The Lamproom Theatre is delighted to announce that the 2017 pantomime will be ‘Sleeping Beauty’ – a production that has not been staged since the theatre opened in 1999. It will have all the elements that Barnsley audiences have come to expect from The Lamproom traditional family pantomime, with the added extra of being a new story and characters.
Phil Shepherd, The writer and Director of previous pantomimes at The Lamproom, is already busy planning the production, and is looking forward to the challenge of bringing a new pantomime to the theatre: “’Sleeping Beauty’ is still in the early stages of production, and, following from the huge success of previous pantomimes, I am looking forward to Directing something that will appeal to all ages, with the traditional elements that our audiences love. Of course, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ is a classic fairytale, and the storyline will reflect this, with The Princess, Prince Charming, Silly Billy, wicked fairy, pantomime dame and other characters that will make it the perfect family outing for Christmas.”
In order to meet demand, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ will run into January 2018 - book early to avoid disappointment.
