A play by Charlotte Keatley
Wakefield Little Theatre are guests at The Lamproom Theatre this week, with a production of 'My Mother Said'. Charlotte Keatley's play spans the years between 1923 and 1987 and portrays women's changing roles, hopes and aspirations. It has a cast of four women playing great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and daughter. We see them as children of their own generation, playing together and also see their relationship at various stages of their lives with their own mothers and children. It is a wonderful play that has that brilliant combination of humour and tragedy that makes you laugh and cry at the same time.
